TEAM Referral Network

TEAM Referral Network is a new leads group that is spreading in the SoCal area. In many ways, the individual groups are similar to other groups that meet weekly, with only one individual per category. But I like the TEAM website where not only did I find information on the chapters, but also good articles written by the founder Kelli Holmes. She writes about how to get the most out of Chamber membership, the concept of “Power Partners,” developing an incentive plan to get referrals, advantages in meeting with members of the group outside of the scheduled time, and an homage to “All I really need to know…I learned in kindergarten.”

The Calabasas chapter has been meeting at the Sagebrush Cantina in Calabasas, CA. I enjoyed my lunch there with the group, but was saddened to learn they have had to close their chapter. For more information about what is happening in the San Fernando Valley or the Conejo Valley, contact Karen Cormier the Chapter Director.

The meeting format included a reading of the Members Creed, and then a report on the number of referrals that had been passed to members. At the time I visited, they were looking for volunteers to join the Members Council, and unfortunately, according to Paul Dworsky, of PIP Printing and Marketing Services no one could find the time, so the chapter could not continue. There are many active chapters in the area, so go to the location you are interested in, but be sure to contact the local president or chapter director before visiting.

  1. Hi Kaaren, Thank you for the report on Team Referal. I have met both Kelli and Terrilee there and they are experienced and dedicated networking industry professionals.

It is sad that the group members could not find the time to step up and help their chapter. Having been on the leadership team of a referral group several times over a 10-year span , I know that the little time it takes is a very good investment in your success and the succcess of your fellow members. And a savvy business person can leverage that leadership exposure into opportunities for themselves and their club…Let’s look at the big picture!
